Questions before the Product Discovery Call

How long does it take to develop an app?
It depends on scope. A tightly defined first release with a few core features is much faster than a platform with a backend and several integrations. After the technical assessment you get a roadmap with realistic milestones. Because we build iteratively, you see working increments early.
What does a professional app cost?
Cost follows features, platforms, backend, integrations and systems you already have. We do not quote a flat price before we know the project, because that number would be either too high or unrealistically low. In the Product Discovery Call we size the scope. The proposal then includes a traceable estimate.
Do you develop for Android and iOS?
Yes. Android is native Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. For iOS we use native development or Kotlin Multiplatform, depending on the project, so business logic can be shared across both platforms.
Native app or cross-platform?
Both are valid. Kotlin Multiplatform can share business logic, data access and tests between Android and iOS while the interface stays native. The right choice depends on audience, hardware access, team structure and how you plan to maintain the product. We decide that together in the technical assessment.
Can you use our existing backend?
In most cases, yes. We review existing APIs for authentication, data model, performance and versioning, and we suggest changes only where the app actually needs them.
Do you build the backend as well?
Yes. We build backend systems with a database, user management, authentication and REST APIs, plus deployment and monitoring in the cloud. App and backend are planned together so there are no gaps between teams and responsibilities.
Can you take over an existing app?
Yes. We start with a review of the code, architecture, build process and open risks. Then we decide together what to extend, what to modernise and what to replace.
Who owns the source code?
You do. Source code, repositories, infrastructure access and documentation belong to your company. On request we work directly in your repositories and cloud accounts. There are no proprietary frameworks that lock you in.
Can you work with our in-house developers?
Yes. We join an existing team, take clearly bounded modules, or support architecture decisions and code reviews. We agree process, tools and branching at the start of the project.
Do you support the product after release?
Yes. We continue development, adapt to new Android and iOS versions, and handle monitoring and incident analysis in production. Scope and response times are agreed together.
Do you work with clients across Germany?
Yes. Albrecht Apps GmbH is a German company and works with clients across Germany and the German-speaking region, and with international teams in English. Work is mostly remote. On-site workshops are possible when agreed. Projects run in German or English.
